Cerro Huiliche Full 4x4

From El Calafate, in just minutes, we ascend to the Huyliche range. The route passes through the slopes of the Cañadón del Arroyo Calafate, we will see: guanacos, foxes, hares, loicas, bandurrias, caranchos and falcons and perhaps condors. We will be surrounded by erratic blocks and formations, a product of the erosion of glaciers up to the First Balcony, from the Cenozoic Era, dated 65 million years old, fossils, sediment and pieces of fossilized vegetation will be part of the environment. After getting off the vehicles for a few minutes at the viewpoints, we will continue up to 1100 meters above sea level, towards the upper Balconies with views of the Andes Mountains, the Patagonian Continental Ice and arms of Lake Argentino. On clear days you can see from Stokes Hill to Fitz Roy and Torre hills. If the Valley is cloudy, we will be able to see the Mountain Range above the clouds that are normally located at 700 meters - about 400 meters below our position, it will be an unforgettable view. Appreciating the majestic flight of the Andean Condor, the largest bird in Continental Patagonia, will perhaps be part of the experience. We will undertake the descent in 4x4 along the southern slope of the hill, that is, we will return from the other side and we will stop to take a walk towards the Labyrinth of Stones. *In times of thaw or heavy rain, this stop is not made*. Continuing the descent we will arrive at Estancia Huyliche, a historic livestock establishment in operation that dates back to the 1920s. Time of the historic events known as Rebel Patagonia. Then, in the oldest house on the Estancia we will serve lunch, snack or dinner according to the reserved time. ** The Cerro Huyliche 4x4 excursion has 3 options for the descent: 4x4, Zipline or Trekking. If you travel with family or friends and choose different options, you will share the ascent to the hill in a 4x4 and the time in the center of Estancia Huyliche. ** The tour lasts between 3.5 and 4 hours. In winter, when part of the 4x4 route becomes inaccessible due to the large amount of accumulated snow (or mud during the thaw), the ascent is made up to about 800 meters until reaching the "East" Balcony from which you can see the the magnificent panoramic views of El Calafate, Lake Argentino and the Andes Mountains. We recommend at least 48 hours. The 4x4 ONLY option has guaranteed availability. Changes in timing for the other two options are subject to availability. If the guides perceive that a passenger cannot do the Trekking or Zip Line option due to physical or clothing issues, they will tell them to do the 4X4 ONLY option for their safety and well-being. Cancellation due to weather conditions If the conditions do not allow the chosen option to be carried out, passengers may carry out another available option, for example in case of strong wind (more than 55kph) we must suspend the Zip Line, in case of heavy rain we must suspend the Trekking. The value of all options is the same, therefore there are no refunds. If we notice this situation before the pick up, we will inform the passenger about the situation and if their option cannot be made, they will have the option to reschedule or cancel free of charge.
